BENEFITS OF WORKING AS A TEAM.
Hey everyone there, my name is Kalyango Elisa!!!! Soon we are entering in the new year, but grant me a chance to share with you the benefits we can gain if we decide to work as a team. All developed countries have enabled to achieve their common goal because there are working as a team. Not even wasting a single minute let's starts our journey.
Team work
I have taken this
opportunity to talk about team work, because I have realized that if we work as
a team we can achieve a lot. During my stay in Norway on the student program
exchange which is organized by Stromme foundation and its partners from
different parts of the world, I have found that the most important thing
towards the development of an organization or a state is to work as a team. And
I have highly realized that everyone is very productive and can contribute
towards the development of a company or a state.
what
is team work?
Team work is the
willingness of a group of people to work together to achieve a common goal.
Let me show you the
importance of working as a team, am doing my in-field activities at Varodd
company in Kristiansand-Norway, Varodd is a company that deals in many
activities like packaging, branding, production and even it has a canteen.
Varodd trains people
how to pack and pick orders for the customers so that they can reach at their destination
when there looking good and safe.
They also train the
youths how to bake some eats like cakes and snacks so that it can be easily for
them to have something there are doing before meeting jobs that are in line
with their professionalism.
People use Varodd to
build their experiences and confidence before there start to do their main
jobs, this is done by doing some tasks like packaging of goods, how to pick
orders for the customers etc.
In brief that is the
role and objectives of Varodd company. In this company, I was subjected to
carry out my hands-on training studies in logistic/procument department, this
department is having both volunteers, students and permanent workers which are
coming from different countries. Like anyone else, the biggest challenge you
can face when you a working with cross-culture communities is language. To my
side, it was worse because even I had to deal with sign language to communicate
with the deaf ones.
Because of language
problem, I faced a lot of challenges in the beginning since I could not understand
well the information. But since I was working in the team, I was able to acquire
a lot of new skills and tactics from my team mates which I used to overcome a
challenge of language disturbance.
One day as we were
working with my friend Joseph who has spent seven years in Norway, we started
up a conversation about the benefits we get if we work as a team. And we all
agreed on potted points below. We agreed that if we a working as a team;
No problem can’t be
solved, this is because everyone brings advise that can be used to solve the
problem which can simplify work for everyone in the team.
In our conversation
we also found out that work becomes easier since everyone can contribute towards
the assigned task. In addition to that even planning and management also become
easier.
We also agreed that
working as a team builds self-confidence and this helps a lot a state or an organization
that a person feels free to air out his/her opinion that might be important towards
the development of the company.
We found out that
reciprocity also rises, because everyone shares what he/she knows to the team
and in return can also gain new ideas and skill he/she has been lacking. This situation
enables people to acquire different developmental skills that can also help
them during their personal development.
We also found that decision
making become easier since people are working under the same umbrella.
Finally, we agreed
that success goes to the team not an individual. And this gives motivation to
everyone in the team.
We came up with the
above points on how beneficial will be if people are working as teams but
besides that we also talked and agreed about factors that can help people to
build up a strong team and these include the following;
Trust worthy, it
includes how to value everyone’s roles in the team. More so on this point we
agreed that people should know how to communicate to their team mate. This is
because communication is the major point of strength in the team. Commanding language
some time is not necessary if the team is to last longer.
Reciprocity/Orientation,
is also needed in the team. It’s not important to be selfish in a team because
at the end success is accounted to the whole team. Even orientation is very
important because it brain storms and refreshes everyone’s mind in the team.
We also agreed that a
team should have a strong management that should have an extra eye to plan for
the team
Finally, we all
agreed that motivation is needed because it gives strength to everyone in the
team to work hard.
As we continued our
conversation with Joseph, we all agreed that the above-mentioned advantages and
factors to work as a strong team, are the ones which has helped Varodd and its
workers to become successful in whatever there doing. But finally, in our conversation
we mentioned up few points that can cause the breakage of a team if members do not
work upon them and these include the following;
- Incompetent management
- Corruption (failure to account for company/state funds)
- Rein enforcement
- Poor decision making
- Disrespect etc.
My request to
everyone, we have seen that working as a team simplifies work and no problem
can’t be solved. How do you see if you start to work as a team? and those who are already in the team, lets
double effort to make our teams more stronger and don’t forget that success goes
to a team not an individual this will highly develop our companies, organizations,
and states.
Finally, let me take
this opportunity to tell you that because of teamwork at Varodd company, it has
helped me a lot to overcome challenges like language and now working is easier
for me.
During our conversation while working
together with my friend Joseph at Varodd company in Kristiansand-Norway.
